Sperone Westwater is pleased to present Space and Matter, a group show on the gallery’s third floor featuring Kadar Brock, Helmut Lang, Daniel Lefcourt, Richard Long, Heinz Mack, Sam Moyer, Anthony Pearson, Otto Piene, Tom Sachs, Sarah Sieradzki, and Richard Tuttle. This exhibition situates new works by artists whose practices explore depth, relief, and object-hood alongside select works by artists from Sperone Westwater’s program that presage this emphasis on materiality. Space and Matter presents work that challenges delineation between painting and sculpture, with surfaces that evoke objects or acknowledge the canvas as a subject in and of itself.

An opening reception will take place Monday, 29 June from 5-7 pm. The exhibition runs concurrently with Bertozzi & Casoni: Selected Works.
